Preparing for Your Ceremony

Here are a few things to consider before you arrive…

The Dieta

The dieta is part of the tradition we practice and an important part of preparing your body for ceremony.

We ask you to begin at least three days before ceremony, although you are welcome to begin earlier.

We have an entire page dedicated to the dieta, including what to eat, what to avoid, and what to do on ceremony day.

Your Intention

What to Bring

Start with Something Simple.

What called you to come to ceremony?

What is present in your life right now?

What keeps asking for your attention?

What are you ready to look at?

Your intention may be very clear, or it might just be this feeling you can’t quite put into words yet.

It will come.

Journal. Walk. Sit outside. Pay attention, but don’t stress about it.

When you arrive, you’ll have time to talk privately with Brad and Sarah, and they can help you refine it.

Less is More.

Comfortable clothes. Layers if you tend to get cold.

A refillable water bottle.

A journal and pen.

Natural insect repellent if you need it.

You may also want to bring something small that carries meaning for you (a photograph, crystal, piece of jewelry).

We provide your mattress, pillows, blankets, buckets, and everything you need inside the ceremony space.

New to Plant Medicine?

We’ve written more about the intention, philosophy, and deeper preparation that can happen in the days leading up to your first ceremony.

The Day of Ceremony

Morning + Afternoon

Eat a nourishing breakfast and lunch.

After 2 PM, we ask that you stop eating and drink only water, coconut water, or herbal tea.

No caffeine.

Hydrate well throughout the day.

You don't need to do anything special before arriving.

Give yourself plenty of time so you aren’t rushing.

Keep the day relatively simple.

Rest if you can.

Arrival

On the first evening, you’ll arrive at Casa Sagrada around 5:30 PM.

You’ll have time to choose your place in the ceremony space, meet the team and other participants, hydrate, walk around, sit by the fire, watch the sunset, or simply take everything in.

While everyone gets comfortable, Brad and Sarah meet privately with each participant for their individual consulta.

Once everyone has finished, we gather together for the opening conversation.

From there, the night unfolds.

On the second night, you’ll arrive around 7:30 PM, since your individual consulta has already taken place.

We’ve created a separate guide that walks you through the entire experience - from your consulta and first cup to the music, individual healings, morning nourishment, and closing conversation.

Every ceremony is different. Every person is different. Even your own experience from one night to the next can be completely different.

Preparation is about creating enough space to meet whatever life is wanting to show you.

Come As You Are…

Be intentional. Nourish yourself. Bring what you need.

And Surrender.
